Holy Land (Orthodox)

Day 1 Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv. Our representative will meet the group and drive you to the hotel in Tiberias, visiting Lydda and the Church of St. George en route. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

Day 2 Mt. Tabor, Cana, Nazareth, Baptism in Jordan River
Drive to Mount Tabor, the site of the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ. Continue to Cana and the Greek Orthodox Church, where Jesus performed his first public miracle. Visit Nazareth to see the Church of the Annunciation. Overnight in Tiberias.

Day 3 Sea of Galilee
Explore the Sea of Galilee, sailing to Capernaum to visit St. Peter’s House and the Synagogue. Continue to the Church of Multiplication and the Mount of Beatitudes. Proceed to the church of the Holy Apostles.

Day 4 Bethlehem – Jerusalem
Visit the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem, Shepherd’s Fields, and the monasteries of St. Saba, St. Theodosius, and St. Elias. Tour Jerusalem, including the monastery St. Symeon and the Monastery of the Holy Cross. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 5 Jerusalem
Start with a panoramic view of the Old City from the Mount of Olives. Visit the Chapel of the Ascension, Church of All Nations, tomb of the Virgin Mary, St. Stephan’s Church, St. Anne’s Church, Pool of Bethesda, and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 6 Jericho, Mount of Temptation, Bethany
Visit Jericho, the Monastery of St. George Hozevitis, the Mount of Temptation, Elisha’s Fountain, and Zaccheus’ Tree. Continue to St. Gerasimos Monastery and the Monastery of Martha and Mary in Bethany. Return to Jerusalem for overnight.

Day 7 Jerusalem
Visit the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, the Tomb of King David, the room of the Last Supper, and the house of St. John the Theologian. Visit the site where the Theotokos is said to have fallen asleep. If time permits, visit Jacob’s Well in Samaria.

Day 8 Flight back
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
